Lindsey & Brody: Butler Private Estate Wedding Photos

What a wedding day! Lindsey & Brody tied the knot in a beautiful garden & floral themed wedding day on Brody's grandfather's property this past weekend, where his parents were also married 26 years ago.

Lindsey & Brody met in middle school and have been together for many years - so this day has been a long time in the making! There were so many beautiful details incorporated into their day, including:

  • Lindsey’s veil, with the couple's initials and wedding date embroidered onto it

  • Lindsey's grandmother's ring, which served as inspiration for her own engagement ring (and served as her something old, borrowed, and blue!)

  • The florals, which included flowers from both Lindsey & Brody's birth months

Aside from all of the special details, this day had a few twists and turns. Honestly, this may have been one of the most eventful weddings I’ve ever photographed! And of course, the couple took all of these in stride. There were storms, power outages, and a fallen cake table (just to name a few - you won’t want to miss the photos we got of that! ;) ), but what really impressed me about Lindsey & Brody is how they kept their focus on water mattered most in the midst of it all.

Because this was such a beautiful and eventful wedding… this blog post is HUGE! There were so many photos that tell the story of the day that I just couldn’t bear to leave out. So get your scrolling finger ready for a workout!

It was truly a privilege to be a part of this wedding day! Thank you Lindsey & Brody for having us!

Rachel & Boaz: University of Pittsburgh Engagement Photos

Meet Rachel & Boaz!

These two met while attending the University of Pittsburgh through Rachel's roommate, and got to know each other while they were both attending Bellefield Presbyterian Church (in Oakland) during their time at Pitt!

Boaz proposed to Rachel in the church's sanctuary after playing the piano for her... so it's a very special place for them both!

For their engagement session, we, of course, took photos all around Oakland! We started off our time together at Bellefield Presbyterian. It has some gorgeous red doors and beautiful architecture for us to incorporate into their photos! Afterwards, we made our way to some different spots on Pitt's campus. It was the most gorgeous sunny afternoon... and made for the loveliest photos!

Rachel & Boaz, you are the sweetest and I am so excited for your wedding day!

Zelienople Professional Headshots

I had the lovely pleasure of photographing a mini headshot session around the town of Zelienople a few weeks ago - and it was such a treat! As a local to Zelienople myself, I was so excited when Chrissy reached out to ask if I would have any availability to take a few professional portraits of both her and her husband.

We walked up and down main street and found a great variety backdrops to work with!

And a huge thank you to my neighbor Holly for assisting me with this session!

Spring Hartwood Acres Mansion Family Photos

I had the honor of photographing this sweet family mini session a few weeks ago at Hartwood Acres!

We've known (and photographed) Kim & Darren since before they were married... and has been so beautiful to see how God has grown them from two into a family of five! They are some of the kindest people you will meet... and they have some beautiful testimonies of how God has worked in their lives, most recently with the birth of their youngest, Eliza!

Congratulations on your beautiful family of five, Kim & Darren!

Meet Sofia!

Sofia is graduating with the class of 2024 this spring! She plans to study elementary education post high school. She loves sweets (and works at an ice cream shop! ), and believe it or not, she is the third senior in her family I've had the joy of photographing at Hartwood Acres Mansion!

We weren't sure how the weather situation was going to play out the evening of her session... but at the last minute, we decided to go for it! And I'm so glad we did. It turned out to be a gorgeous evening, and we almost had the whole mansion area to ourselves during her session!

If you're wondering where Sofia's gorgeous pink dress is from... it's the "Emma Smocked Tulle Dress" from Baltic Born! Her red dress is from Abercrombie.

Congratulations to Sofia on her senior year!

Spring Phipp's Conservatory Proposal

There's nothing quite like a Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Broderie Room proposal!

This one took place on a very special weekend for these two, who came into Pittsburgh from out of state for the Pittsburgh Marathon!

JD planned this beautiful proposal from afar on 1) the weekend his now-fiance was running the Pittsburgh marathon, and 2) on the weekend of her birthday! Talk about having a lot to celebrate!!

JD and Isabel have been dating for almost 6 years. And let me tell you, they are the sweetest! So easy to talk to, and so much fun. We had a blast on a beautiful, sunny Pittsburgh morning at Phipps! and oh my goodness, I still can't get over how beautiful the Broderie Room looked with the bright florals. And that Isabel wore a shirt that complimented it so well, without even knowing!

Congratulations on your engagement, you two!

Zach is graduating this spring from Seneca Valley! He plans to study Economics post high school, and is currently learning Russian!

We had the best evening at McConnell's Mill for his photos - not too warm, and the most beautiful light!

I've had the privilege of photographing all three kids from this sweet family during their senior year... (see Garrett here, and Madie here!) and we always have so much fun together! I'm sad that this is the last senior, but so grateful to this family for trusting me with so many memories over the years!

Zach - congratulations on your senior year!

Nina L: Moraine State Park Senior Photos

Meet Nina - a senior graduating from North Allegheny with the class of 2024! 🎉

Nina was a treat to photograph at the end of April at Moraine State Park on one of the most beautiful spring evenings!

When we had chatted before her session, she requested 1) a field, and 2) sunlight in the background of her photos. Sometimes those two things can be tough to find in Pittsburgh in April (especially the sunlight 😉)... but we were able to make both of those requests happen (truly by God's provision!).

Besides a field and sun, we found some lovely pink blossoms. And of course, we had to use the area near the water. We had a gorgeous golden hour that really made those photos pop!

Isn't she just so stunning?! She made my job so easy!

I also want to give a big thank you and shout out to Dani, who was my assistant/reflector holder for this session. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Spring Hartwood Acres Engagement Family Photos

Oh my oh my! I am so excited to be sharing these photos of this sweet family of three from our session on a beautiful spring evening at the one and only Hartwood Acres Mansion!

We had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth & Robert a little less than a year ago when they moved to Pittsburgh from Virginia. They were looking for a new church community to be a part of, and started coming to ours! Elizabeth was pregnant at the time with little Abel, and now here he is... just under two months old!

It has been a joy and a privilege to get to know (and photograph) these three!

Amber & Ryan: Surprise Zelienople Proposal

Boy do I have a good one to share with you today! ☺️

Ryan contacted me several weeks ago and shared with me that he would be proposing to his long time girlfriend in Zelienople. As a photographer who literally lives IN Zelienople… I was absolutely stoked to get to document this moment!

Ryan shared with me that he planned to propose at his girlfriend (Amber) after a meal at her favorite restaurant, Kaufman Tavern (if you’ve never been there… it’s a must try! So delicious. The charred cauliflower appetizer is my absolute favorite!)

Together, we chose a location in Zelienople that would be photo-worthy for such an occasion. The day was set, the location was set, and everything seemed to be falling into place… except for a few surprises!

The first surprise (which won’t really be a surprise if you’re familiar with the weather here in Pittsburgh) was the weather. All week leading up to the proposal, there was a strong chance of rain (and storms) for the majority of the day. The day of the proposal, however, it was only overcast, no rain. Woo hoo!

The second surprise came from me. After cleaning out our attic the day before the proposal, I slipped down our steps and rolled my foot. Nothing was broken, but I couldn’t walk on it and couldn’t put a shoe on it (definitely a problem if you’re photographing a proposal…) There was no WAY I was going to cancel, so I did a lot of praying, and the next day, I was able to at least put some weight on my foot. I still couldn’t fit a shoe on it, however… so yes - I photographed this entire proposal with only one shoe on, hobbling around. The ground was cold and wet, but that’s nothing that a pair of fuzzy socks and a heating pad couldn’t fix after the fact!

God bless my husband, Nick, who came with me and was my human crutch.

But back to Amber and Ryan! Ryan popped the question to Amber, she said yes, and then her best friend (who had been in hiding across the street in the Walgreen’s parking lot!) came over with some very on-theme “Bride-to-be” and “Maid-of-honor” bedazzled sunglasses! We took some photos at the gazebo, then headed back to Kaufman Tavern to take some photos out front… since it is a special part of their story now!

Amber & Ryan, thank you so much for letting me be a part of such a special moment for you two! Congratulations on your engagement!
