Portraits for The Perfect Piece in Zelienople, PA

The Perfect Piece is a used furniture store located in Zelienople, PA. Ownership for the store recently changed hands, and the new owners (Robin & Melinda) invited me to come and take a few portraits of them in their space (along with a few photos of them with the previous owners!).

This was such a sweet time! Robin is a long time friend of mine (who actually has assisted me with quite a few sessions in the past - so you might recognize her if you’ve had a senior session with me!), and it was such a joy to see this new venture come to fruition for her.

The store has lots of beautiful furniture, so we had a lot to work with in terms of portrait spots! As someone who usually photographs seniors, weddings, and families, this was a fun change of pace.

And a someone who lives in Zelienople, it was so much fun to get to work with a local business in this way.

Spring 2023 Mini Sessions on May 2nd!

I'm excited to announce that I'll be holding some limited mini sessions this Spring on Tuesday, May 2nd at McConnell's Mill State Park!

These sessions will take place at McConnell's Mill State Park (Kildoo Picnic Area), only on Tuesday, May 2nd in the evening, and availability is limited (rain date: Thursday, May 4th). Each mini session includes...

• 15 minutes of on location photography at Moraine State Park (with a forest backdrop, as pictured in this email!)

• Up to 25 high resolution digital files (delivered via online gallery)

• A print release (To print your photos wherever you would like! Note that professional print products are also available for purchase through your online gallery)

These mini sessions are perfect for...

• Updated immediate family photos

• Mom + children photos (perfect for Mother's Day!)

Zelienople Family Photos & Professional Headshots

I adore this family! I first photographed Jess + Micah for their engagement photos back in 2014... nearly 9 years ago! Their family as doubled in size since then. I am so very grateful that they continue to trust me with their memories!

We had a little mini session in Zelienople (so many great backdrops to work with here ) and got a few family photos, and some new headshots for Micah! It's hard to believe that this was my first session back since Lucy joined our family... and spending it with these four was such a joy!!!

Strip District Pittsburgh Professional Headshots

Most budding photographers tend to rope their family members into photo shoots to get practice when starting out - and Paul (my younger brother, pictured here) was one of my OG test models!

Thankfully he still trusts me to take photos of him all of these years later 😉 He needed some updated professional headshots, so we headed off to the Strip District to get some architectural and city skyline photos for him to use. I love how they turned out!

Vibrant Fall Equestrian Photos in Valencia at Applewood Farms

It was a beautiful fall afternoon when I took these photos of Laura and her horse, Remmy, at Appleworks Farm in Valencia, PA. So many fall colors were at their peek - and we had the farm almost completely to ourselves!

Laura was excellent in front of the camera, and so was Remmy! You never know how a horse might decide to behave or how well he might cooperate when taking photos - but Remmy was a gentle giant and complied with everything we wanted him to do. What a fun day!

Jessica M: Professional Headshots at Hartwood Acres Mansion

Professional headshots are not something I take on often, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to take Jess’s headshot for her new business venture!

I photographed Jess for the first time over EIGHT years ago for her engagement session... basically, when I was first getting my feet on the ground in the photography world, Jess & her now-husband trusted me with their engagement + wedding day memories, and I could not be more thankful (or more emotional!) when I think about how much that means to me!

And it is always always ALWAYS an honor when people who trusted me then trust me yet again with their photo moments! I had the honor of taking some quick headshots for her before another session to use for her new business venture as a therapist. What a blessing it was to reconnect, even just for a little while!

Jess, you are beautiful! Thank you so much for the honor of taking these! (PS - isn't her outfit amazing?! I love bright colors in photos! )

Introducing Spring 2022 Mini Sessions at Moraine State Park!

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a round of Spring mini sessions this year at a favorite park of mine, Moraine State Park!

These sessions will be 15 minutes in length and will take place at the Pleasant View Picnic Area on the South Shore of Moraine. These mini sessions will include 10 digital files (that you will be able to choose from your online gallery!), and will be priced at $275, +6% sales tax. We’ll be using a natural, forest-y backdrop for the photos (see example photos below!)

Isabella L: Hartwood Acres Mansion Senior Photos

I had the pleasure of taking Isabella’s sister’s senior photos (almost three years ago to the day!), and when Isabella’s mom emailed me to chat about her second daughter’s senior session, I was so excited! And, of course, Isabella was a dream to photograph. Her outfit choices stood out so well against the Hartwood greenery and architecture, and blended so well with the florals!

Isabella, it was such an honor to celebrate this season with you! Congratulations on your senior year!

Josef C: McConnell's Mill Senior Photos

You never know what sort of weather you’ll get in March in Pittsburgh, but on this particular Saturday for Josef’s senior photos… we had… wait for it… SUN! It may have been a little cold (30’s?), but the sun kept our heads and spirits high during this session!

Josef is a senior at Seneca Valley who plans on studying botany post-high school graduation! McConnell’s Mill was an easy choice as far as location goes for his senior session, considering it’s a favorite spot of his for hanging out with friends. It was easy to see his love for botany throughout the session. Even though much of the landscape was still slightly dead from winter, Josef identified plants for us as we went throughout his session - which was so much fun! Honestly, I don’t give plants very much thought when I’m out walking around, so it was cool to be able to see what I usually miss through Josef’s eyes!

A HUGE congratulations to you, Josef, on your senior year! I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to photograph you!

Bryce W: Snowy Historic Harmony Senior Photos

Bryce is a Seneca Valley senior who loves music… and the snow! Which is great, because we had a LOT of it the day of his session. We were able to get some super unique images in one of my favorite locations for him because he was willing to push through the cold!
